Morning Choice and Clubs
Morning Choice and Clubs

-
Trevvett’s morning programming was intentionally created with the goal of allowing students a space to engage in non-academic activities from 7:20 - 7:50 am, prior to beginning their instructional day. Participation in morning clubs has been proven to boost self-confidence, create a sense of belonging, and decrease student discipline infractions.
-
Each quarter, we offer a wide range of diverse morning clubs that are open to all students, all ages. Clubs are hosted by Trevvett staff and volunteers, and rotate on a 5-6 week schedule. The morning club dates for this school year are:
Q1: Sept 9-Oct 16 T/W
Q2: Nov 12- Dec 19 T/W/TH
Q3: Jan 14- Feb 21
Q4: Mar 3- Apr 11
Some of the morning clubs that have been hosted in the past include but are not limited to: art, dance, ukulele, running, frisbee, basketball, soccer, step, gardening, STEAM, sign language, and much more. At Trevvett, we are always seeking volunteers to assist with hosting additional morning clubs. If you are interested in hosting a morning club, reach out to Mrs. Lara at kalara@henrico.k12.va.us.
-
Students that do not participate in a morning club have the option to engage in morning choice. This is time in the classroom where students can engage in activities such as board games, trivia, STEAM, mindfulness, and other non-academic activities provided by classroom teachers.
